Francigena Way - From Lecce to Otranto
Price from
€650 per person
Overview
The Via Francigena del Sud ends at Otranto — the heel of the heel, where medieval pilgrims crossed the Adriatic toward Jerusalem.
This section of the route, through the Salento countryside between Lecce and the coast, is among the most beautiful walking in southern Italy: ancient olive groves, rural Byzantine chapels, villages that have not changed their relationship to the landscape in centuries. The arrival at Otranto's cathedral — with its extraordinary mosaic floor — is one of the genuinely moving moments available to a traveller in Italy.
We organise the route, the stages and the accommodation. The experience of walking it is entirely your own.
