Puglia in a nutshell
Imperial Puglia

Overview
Most visitors to Puglia head straight south. The north of Bari rewards those who don't.
This is Frederick II's country — the Holy Roman Emperor who built Castel del Monte as an eight-sided octagonal enigma on a hilltop that has puzzled historians for eight centuries. The coastline running north through Trani, Bisceglie and Molfetta is Puglia at its most Norman: grand cathedrals standing directly above the sea, medieval fishing ports still functioning as they always have, a landscape that feels older and less visited than anything further south.
Barletta is the base — a genuinely characterful coastal town that most Puglia tourists never reach. We know it well. Seven nights here is enough to understand the north properly.
